equipment reviews

Equipment reviews are designed to assess the overall and component level conditions of your elevator system. Equipment reviews play a pivotal role in our recommendation process. Let us survey your elevator equipment to see what's what.

EQUIPMENT REVIEWS

Elevators are like automobiles. They need to be maintained to ensure proper operation, to avoid excessive breakdowns and to promote equipment longevity. With a successful maintenance plan in place it is not unreasonable to expect your equipment to run smoothly and relatively trouble free.

Excessive shutdowns, service calls, and noises are signs your elevator equipment and maintenance program need a tune-up. If your elevator system shows signs of decline, equipment reviews will help us determine what the factors are driving this decline. Whether your equipment shows signs of worn parts, inadequate maintenance, misuse, tired repairs or any combination of these factors, a basic equipment survey will reveal a lot and help steer our decisions and recommendations.

Our first area of concentration in the equipment review process is focused on the elevator door system. Industry statistics show that elevator door system malfunctions comprise nearly 90 percent of elevator shutdowns. While this statistic may be alarming, the silver lining is that elevator doors systems are also some of the easiest components and operations to straighten out and maintain. When it comes to elevator downtime, shutdown costs and potential long term cost savings and performance improvement, elevator doors rule the roost.

After your door equipment is sorted, we will direct our equipment review efforts towards your elevator power and control systems, pushbutton, fixture and cab components, then finally towards your elevator hoistway, pit and remaining machine room equipment. All of these areas are important and play into the overall quality and performance of your elevator system.

Equipment reviews give us a snapshot into the life of your elevator system, how well it is likely behaving, and provide us an indication of the level of care and maintenance the system has been receiving. Equipment reviews and conditions are foundational to our review and recommendation processes.
